SEO and Social Media Marketing: complementary strategies

Before being able to give a valid answer, it is necessary to do a minimum of elucidation on these two strategies.

The activity of optimizing web pages and websites (activity better known by the term SEO) , is the way to go to achieve greater online visibility. Social media marketing focuses its efforts in order to generate visibility on the main social networks, create virtual communities, increase interest in a brand, be closer to users.

Before the creation and activation of the positioning algorithms, a good positioning was obtained by inserting a quantity of keywords and thematic links on one's website in order to be able to appear among the search results. Over the years the focus has shifted towards the quality of the content rather than quantity.

Today it is difficult for us to think of stuffing websites with keywords and being present in the first search results on Google. Content is as important as it is vital in order to increase one's authority on the web. The creation of quality content is the first step to be able to increase the visibility of a website and if supported by a good social media marketing activity, it will certainly be possible to involve a substantial number of users.

Social media can represent an indicator of the quality of content if, when users reach the web platform through the published content, a defined time remains necessary in order to be able to read what has been achieved.

At this point we can provide an answer to the initial question: it is no longer possible to think of SEO and social media marketing as two different strategies to be implemented separately. The two strategies must be considered as two sides of the same coin that pursue the same goal: Increase the visibility of the brand.

You cannot think of creating content without then sharing it on social networks or sharing content on social media without having a web platform capable of hosting and enhancing such content.
